Doing things around the neighborhood I would meet one of the graduates of Most Holy Redeemer class of 1953 at various places around the area and during the conversation that ensued we would always say "we have to get together", well time would pass and we would meet again and "we should get together" and time would pass

Finally last summer I met Bob Lunz in TOPS and Janice Manquen (Forgive me Ladies I am going to use the names we knew you as at MHR - to save a lot of explanations) at a fish fry and "we should get together", well a couple of days after meeting Janice I decided to do something about "lets get together". I sat myself down at my computer and typed up a little note setting a date "to get together". I picked Nov 28th as the date and 7:00 PM as the time and LOUGESS as the place. I sent it out to the people that setup the last reunion. My plan was to go down there a little before 7:00 and see who came and if nobody was there by 7:30 I would leave.

[I had kept the profiles that you had filled out for the last reunion and in going through them to get addresses I realized that in 18 months it will have been 600 months- I THINK that sounds a little better then 50 YEARS !!! That's right 1953 plus 50 is 2003 and we did graduate in 1953. More about this a little later though.]

It was a miserable night, a cold rain. When I got there Neil Merkling and Bob Lunz were already there, so we got a table and sat down and caught up with what we had been doing since we last met. Not too much later Judy Herrscher and her husband came in and then Janice and her husband. Then Jerry Schoemick came in and Diane Barry followed not too much later. We just sat around the table and caught up on what was happening to us, and the neighborhood. I had a good time - the cold rain affected me because I walked there (one of the advantages of picking the place) - everybody else got in a car and drove home, of course it would be quite a hike for the rest of the people there.

Now back to the 600 months. One of the ideas in the back of my mind for setting up that little get together was to see if there was any interest in having a 50th reunion. All of the people there thought it was a pretty good idea and we are starting to lay plans for it. It is very elemental planning stages right now am sending this out to see how many of the rest of the graduates would be interested in having a get together, where they might like to have it, when to have it so that the greatest number of people might attend, things like that.

We are having another meeting on Jan 15, 2002 at the Donavan Post off Genesee St. near the Thruway overpass at 7:00 PM (+/-) and everybody is welcome.. More after that meeting
